What is the Hi-Lite Series?

The Hi-Lite series bumpers from Backwoods Adventure Mods get their name from their weight. The highest weighing bumper in this lineup comes in at only 190lbs. While saving weight on your Tacoma might not seem like a big deal, it actually allows you to load up more gear and save room for more modifications without changing the dynamics of your truck. A big complaint with Tacoma’s is their lack of power, so the benefit of adding protection while saving weight is something to really consider so you don’t slow down your Tacoma any more than you have to. Every bumper is manufactured and produced in the US, in the same neck of the woods as Overlandaholic, which is Northwest Arkansas. Every bumper from Backwoods Adventure Mods also comes standard with black powder coating.

Hi-Lite Front Bumper

The Hi-Lite front bumper comes in two style options, with a bull bar and without, to fit the style of your truck. These front bumpers are high clearance, so it will require some cutting into your Tacoma, but adds the benefit of more ground clearance so you have a few less things to worry about on your Overlanding trips.

The Specifications

The specifications are the same for both of these bumpers, except for the weight. If you choose to go with the bull bar option, the total weight of the bumper itself is 84 pounds and without the bull bar is 80 pounds. Here are the other awesome specs:

  • 54lbs steel winch cradle.

  • Welded and buffed using robotics to make sure every bumper comes out perfectly and consistently.

  • Accept all hawse fairleads and most roller fairleads.

  • Cutouts for winch access and spooling visibility.

  • High clearance winch mount.

  • 2 D-Ring shackle mounts.

  • 2 square cutouts for 2” light pods.

  • Flat top to mount lightbars or other accessories.

Additional Options

Both bumpers come with the following options that you can add on:

  • Steel frame support brackets

    • If you plan on adding a winch to your bumper, these are required.

  • Pathfinder or Baja Designs fog lights

  • 9” Pathfinder Auxiliary Lights

If you’re looking to add some clearance to the rear end of your Tacoma, the Hi-Lite high clearance rear bumper is the way to go. It’s simple, stylish, and adds a lot more protection than your stock rear bumper.

Specifications

  • Total Weight: 140lbs

  • One-piece, made from steel.

  • Includes Edge Trim

  • Includes license plate lights

  • Includes trailer wiring harness extension

  • Grade 8 hardware

  • 2 steel 3/4” thick recovery shackle mounts

If you’re looking for additional storage and mounting space, going with the high clearance rear bumper with dual swingouts is an excellent choice. The bumper is the same as the high clearance rear bumper without swing outs, so it’s made out of steel, and the dual swing-out arms are made out of aluminum to save weight.

Specifications

  • Total Weight: 190lbs

  • Includes edge trim, license plate lights, and trailer wiring harness extension, rear camera bracket, and bearing and seal kit.

  • 2 aluminum swing-out doors

Additional Options

  • Tire carrier

If you wanted some extra protection in the rear of your Tacoma, but don’t want to cut into the bedside or don’t see the need for higher clearance, Backwoods Adventure Mods also has the Overland Rear Bumper just for you.
